  Description

  Summary

  The Administrative Assistant acts primarily as the office receptionist providing a high degree of customer service to office guests, applicants, students and the general public. Also, this person will assist staff as necessary with all Office of Admissions functions and responsibilities.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  Provide quality customer service to all in office guests and to persons by telephone and email.

  Generate basic statistical reports and department presentations as necessary.

  Assist with departmental social media marketing efforts.

  Assist with scheduling visits/interviews for admissions programs.

  Assist with department mail and distribution.

  Compile informational folders for visitors, career fairs, and summer tours.

  Assist with interview day facilitation and coordination of all programs as needed.

  Monitor office supplies and place orders.

  Assist with General Admission's e-mails as necessary.

  General office filing and records management.

  Process and generate inquiry letters and mail MWU information to the general public.

  Additional duties as assigned.

  Education and/or Experience

  High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year College/Technical school desired; 1-2 years of related administrative experience required, preferable in a higher education or professional setting.

  Computer Skills

  Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook). Knowledge of statistical report generation, social media, and database management preferred.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision.
