Position Summary
Pima Community College\'s Department of Chemistry is currently acceptingapplications to expand the pool of qualified Chemistry Faculty to teachacademic level courses for the spring 2024 and summer 2025 terms, withpossibility of being offered a course in Fall of 2024 academic year andbeyond. Candidates may be hired and assigned to specific courses or maybe included in a pool for potential future assignments based onenrollment.
We are seeking dedicated part-time instructors to join our pool ofexcellent adjunct faculty who are qualified to teach college levelcourses in Chemistry.
Part-time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and theopportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achievingtheir educational goals. Instructors in these courses will be usingactive learning strategies, online resources and will provide equitableinstruction for our students.

General Duties:
Instruct students in the content area and work with them onstrategies to help them achieve academic success.Follow established protocols for presence, responsiveness, grading,attendance taking, and assessment of student learning.Use current, effective classroom management techniques.Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure StudentLearning Outcomes are met on a classroom, discipline/program, andCollege level.Evaluate student performance.Continually improve instruction utilizing appropriate deliverymethods.Maintain competency and currency in the teaching field(s), as wellas in teaching strategies, subject delivery modalities, andassessment methods.Work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students and utilize acollegial style in all forms of communication.The ideal candidate will have knowledge, skills, and abilities relatedto:
Experience teaching General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry coursesfor science majors, Allied ealth professions, and in developmentalcourses.Experience teaching online courses and/or alternative instructionalformatsExperience using a Learning Management System, preferably D2LBrightspaceStudent learning styles: ability to adapt and modify instructionbased on the instructional needs of students, including working withaccommodations and accessibilityEvaluation of students\' educational progress: ability to maintainhigh instruction and learning standards and assess students\'academic progress in meeting course objectives and student learningoutcomesCompetencies in diversity and inclusion: knowledge of diversecommunity college student populations, and the ability to addressdiversity in effective instructional practice and student learningMinimum Qualifications
Chemistry has two separated categories: academic/transfer, anddevelopmental.
