Reporting to the Collections Manager, the Collections Supervisor assists in the oversight of credit risk and collections management. The individual is responsible for supervision of a collections team, national account collections, credit applications, training, assisting in setting team goals, and ensuring adherence to regulations, laws, and protocols to collect payment efficiently. To succeed within this role, the individual should be focused on optimizing department processes, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills with others within and outside of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training, engaging, and evaluating collection team members with a focus on teamwork, excellence, and the customer (internal and external).
Supervise collection activities such as negotiating with past due accounts, sending follow-ups, referring accounts to 3rd party collection agency when necessary.
Receive, investigate, and resolve escalated collections related issues and inquiries from team.
Assist in the development of Credit & Collection policies, processes, and controls leveraging knowledge of best practices.
Review and prepare risk analysis for establishment of credit for all new customers
Manage and document routine credit review of existing National Account customers in compliance with the credit and collections policy.
Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial information to management.
Assist in setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives.
Assist in developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing policies and department processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
Review of 3rd party portals for accurate invoicing.
Education and Work Experience
3-5 years of related experience, supervisory experience preferred.
Associate degree or higher in business-related program preferred.
