We are looking for an individual with a strong accounting background and analytical mindset to join our BSO team. This individual contributor role will have approximately a 50/50 split between recurring accounting responsibilities and projects.
Core Responsibilities
Optimize processes and work procedures, promoting the LEGO Continuous improvement approach across functional areas
Collaboration with peers in Monterrey (MTY), Singapore (SGP) and Business Process Improvement (BPI) process team on critical global projects e.g. Blackline
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (IFRS)
Perform reviews and analysis of internal quality controls, ensuring adherence to business rules
Manage more advanced execution of GL processes in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, including
Monthly and Yearly closing
Performance of the key controls, identification of the control weaknesses, suggestions for improvements
Review reconciliations (accounts, intercompany, bank, etc.) and translating business transactions into journal entries in accordance with IFRS to ensure all accounts are properly stated in Legal books
Provide data, analysis and advice necessary to support financial business partners / business in decision making process
Support broad adoption of new technologies and implementation of process changes
Estimated travel activity – up to 2 weeks per year

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations; Monterrey, Prague and Singapore.
The General Ledger (GL) department is responsible for compliant handling of the general ledger across the EMEA region and all engagements related hereto, which involves natural interaction with a broad range of stakeholders.
The Manager Specialist plays an important role in developing a best in class GL department within the BSO. We need development-oriented individuals, eager to engage actively in shaping and strengthening a high-performing department, valuing collaboration, process excellence, quality and fun in the everyday life.
Do you have what it takes?
Demonstrated accounting experience in a similar role; experience in the preparation of statutory Financial Statements would be beneficial
Analytical, detail - and high-quality oriented with excellent project management skills
Experience with an enterprise wide accounting software system, preferably SAP
Knowledge of Blackline or Power BI would be advantageous
Working experience in an International accounting environment is preferred
Experience working with Continuous Improvements / Lean / Sigma would be ideal
Personal drive and initiative, excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key stakeholders
Presentation and communication skills required to onboard and support user groups in the implementation of new technologies/processes
