Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager based in New York, New York. This role lies within the industry of finance and accounting and involves managing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and providing ad hoc support. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the operation of a budget
• Taking charge of the fiscal year end process
• Creating and executing monthly financial statements
• Conducting monthly reconciliation of multiple endowment accounts
• Providing ad hoc support as required
• Exercising financial control over investment accounts
• Generating accurate financial reports to aid decision-making
• Ensuring compliance with accounting and financial regulations
• Supervising financial transactions and budgeting processes
• Collaborating with team members to achieve financial objectives. Requirements • The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in a managerial role within the accounting field is required.
• Excellent knowledge of Financial Statements and Account Reconciliation is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
• The candidate must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• The candidate must possess excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop a team.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail is required.
• The candidate must have good problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• The candidate must possess excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
• The candidate should have a proven track record of process improvement and have the ability to keep up with industry and regulatory changes.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner is required.
