Description

Robert Half is seeking an Accounting Clerk for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. The Accounting Clerk will perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. Responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, and reconciling bank statements. The ideal candidate should have 0-3 years of experience in the accounting field and be familiar with Excel Pivot Tables VLOOKUPs.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update accounting records and files

Post financial data to accounts in accounting software

Process invoices, payments, and expenses

Prepare and submit customer invoices

Reconcile bank statements and ledgers

Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate employee payments

Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements

Review and verify the accuracy of financial data

Respond to inquiries and provide assistance to customers and internal staff regarding billing and payment issues

Maintain confidentiality of financial information

Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:

0-3 years of work or internship experience in the Accounting field

Proficient in MS Excel

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with basic accounting principles

Experience with payroll processing

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
