Job Description
Position Overview
The Accountant - Construction Accounting will be responsible for alldevelopment accounting including project cost tracking and reporting,processing of project A/P, and construction draw processing. Thisposition may be responsible for tracking and leading cash planningmeetings for development pipeline projects. The position may alsoprepare various financial & tax supporting schedules.
Additionally, the Construction Accountant will support the preparationof quarterly and annual financial statement schedules, annualcompilation of footnotes, miscellaneous financial reporting requests,and annual audits. Individual must be a self-starter, well organized,possess excellent computer skills, be able to multi-task and enjoy thechallenge of taking on new and exciting opportunities.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the accounting operations of the company, ensuringaccuracy if all general ledger informationPrepare project workbooks to support balance sheet and incomestatement balances and activity.Prepare and review financial statements, including all monthlyjournal entries, to verify account balances for accuracy andreasonableness.Assist with annual audit work papers and audit report preparation.Liaise routinely with Project Managers, Development, Finance, andTreasury on a variety of job related topics including insurance andcontract agreements.Maintain compliance with project debt and equity agreements.Coordinate project treasury, banking and cash flow analysis.Coordinate and take ownership of project issues with asset managers,project managers and finance professionals.Develop and maintain relationships with key partners includingbanks, title companies, etc. that will support and grow the businessPrepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizinginformation and trendsRequired Skills
Bachelors Degree in Accounting.2+ years of accounting experience.Existing understanding and knowledge of GAAP.Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products isrequired.Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employervisa sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred Skills
Experience in energy industry preferred, but not required.Multi-Site Organization SEC Company or Public accounting firmexperience preferred.Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly and annual department drivendeadlines.Experience working on multiple projects/developments simultaneouslyAbility to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines,with attention to detail and an ability to work both independentlyand in a team environmentStrong coordination / organization skills with attentiveness totimelines.Understanding of variance / trend analysis withactual/budget/historical results.Strong interpersonal skills - able to work effectively in a teamenvironment.Responsible, dependable and possess an exceptional work ethic.Benefits
