The role of Accountant Analyst is hands-on, working within the Accounting/Finance team to initially support the business through a period of substantial change and sustain best practices thereafter. The role is responsible for establishing, integrating, and performing several accounting and account payable processes for Estudios Mexicanos Telemundo and Servicios de Produccion Reforma.
Assist for daily operational accounting including accounts receivable/payable, amortization of prepaid assets, depreciation, payroll, etc.
Assist in intercompany transactions processes as invoicing, collections, reconciliations and posting.
Assist in month/quarterly close process including prepare draft journal and accrual entries and related support, G/L closing, perform G/L reconciliation, support balance sheet variance analyses as well as regular reporting
Assist in monthly/annual tax information and VAT Tax refund process
Assist in internal/external auditor requests
Create and maintain vendors in the company´s financial systems
Maintenance and processing of account payables transactions including review and verify invoices, coding and approval routing, processing invoices for payment, review and post transactions, perform reconciliations, monitor bank account to ensure payments are performed as well as vendor inquiry support.
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Experience in monthly close processes.
Accounting experience
US Corporation and Entertainment industry experience highly desirable
International accounting experience advantageous
Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system is desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact at all levels of the organization; able to translate processes to non-finance professionals.
A very high standard for accuracy and consistency
Proven ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritize effectively and deal with multiple task simultaneously.
Demonstrable experience in successfully dealing with complex, fluid environments
Resourceful problem solver – resolve problems to reach a successful result
A team player who can also work independently and is a self-starter.
1+ years of experience in accounting, auditing or finance
Bachelor´s degree in Accounting or Finance
Bilingual: English/Spanish, both oral and written
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Microsoft word and PowerPoint) and ERP applications (SAP ECC)
Strong written and oral communications skills
Organized and strong attention to detail with proven ability to independently resolve problems.
Ability to work independently under general supervision
