POSITION DESCRIPTION: The ABI/MFP Assistant Director is responsible foroverseeing the ABI/MFP House Managers, staffing and operations ofmultiple group homes for adults with disabilities. The ABI/MFP AssistantDirector will train and supervise staff members. Ensure that the homesare safe, clean, and comfortable at all times. Makes certain thatindividuals are given all needed supports to help them live asindependently as possible, maintain optimal health and are givensufficient opportunities to engage in their desired activities andinterests at home and in the community. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'sdegree in related field and a minimum of two years\' experienceproviding residential supports or Associates Degree with one additionalyear of related experience. A minimum of one-year supervisory experienceis required with either degree. High school diploma or GED with 4 yearsworking with individuals with disabilities, 2 years in a supervisorycapacity. Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checksincluding but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Drivingrecord, E-verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certificationchecks (i.e., nursing). Valid US driver\'s license and ready access to avehicle. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Must maintain all certification neededin the program including CPR, First Aid, MAP, START (for DDS Residentialonly) and BFAIR Human Rights Training. May need to attend workshops,seminars or BFAIR functions as needed for job development.RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Treat each individual, co-worker, supervisor andothers with the respect and dignity due every human being and adhere tothe Department Developmental Services (DDS) Human Rights Standards andthe Disabled Persons Protection Commission\'s (DPPC) Mandated ReporterGuidelines around physical and emotional abuse, including the timelyreporting of violations. 2. Provide and maintain a safe and warm homeenvironment for individuals in the program. Oversee housekeeping andensure program is organized and accessible. 3. Provide training andsupervision to House Managers, Direct Care and Direct Care Relief staff.Act as a coach/mentor. 4. Meet regularly with each House Manager forsupervision and complete annual evaluations/Assessments as required. 5.Assist or initiate employee disciplinary action including up totermination. 6. Participate in hiring process: conduct initial phonescreen/interviews, site visits, reference checks and makerecommendations to Director. 7. Review status of individuals, staffing,housing concerns, etc. Support assigned individuals at medicalappointments as needed. 8. Review and approve all bi-weekly timesheets,time off requests, mileage sheets and grocery request. Review andapprove all individuals spending requests. 9. Ensure that staffingrequirements/schedule are accurate and complete for each house assigned.10. Act as an appropriate role model through dress, speech, and actionsboth in the home and community to foster appropriate socialrelationships and skill development. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND MENTALDEMANDS OF POSITION: Because of the nature of the work to be performed,requirements may include the following at least some of the time whileassisting individuals in the completion of their routine tasks. Indoorand outdoor work is required.
