Founded in Sweden in 1907, today SKF is publicly traded on the Nasdaq Stockholm with annual sales in 2020 of approximately $10 billion.Job Summary:The Aerospace Business Unit is responsible for Aerospace applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business development, Product and Process Development. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine / airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of our Business Unit. In Hanover, PA we produce Rings and Seals for the Aerospace and Industrial markets.Role and Responsibilities:Operate a variety of set up and operate any machine in the Production Shaft Seal Shop to perform any operation on a wide variety of aerospace and industrial special production work in various size lots.Generally falling within the milling, turning, boring, and abrasive machining procedures.Move from operation to operation as necessary.Work from oral and written instructions, prints, sketches, and process sheets. etc.Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure conformance to known standards.Perform operator capable lubrication and service as needed.Transport items and products.Set-up and operate Lapping Room equipment as needed.Make adjustments and set up machine.Maintain records and paperwork.Ensure work areas are kept in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly fashion.Notify supervision of problems or difficulties.Follow all plant safety rules and regulations along with company policies & procedures.Equipment Used - Including but not limited to:      CNC, Lathe, Milling, Lapping, Grinding Machines, Finishing Machines, Mori MachinesJob Requirements:Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required.Must be able to read and understand blueprints.Knowledge of measurement equipment such as gauges and mics.Machine programming knowledge a plus.Able to effectively work in an environment requiring considerable independent judgment, analysis, creativity, pragmatism, and self-motivation with customer focus.Refers to supervisor for clarification of priorities, objectives, or policies.All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW).What You'll Love About SKF:Rest and Relaxation. Enjoy a robust vacation policy and 14 paid holidays!SKF Celebrates Diversity in the Workplace! We actively develop ourselves and our teams to enable outstanding delivery.
