The XCTest Engineering team is responsible for our core XCTest UI automation APIs, including the automation authoring and execution experiences in Xcode itself. Testing is a key part of building high-quality applications and as a member of this team, you’ll play a significant role in shaping the tools used by millions of developers every day to validate their code.
Key Qualifications
Experience with Swift and/or Objective-C
2+ years building frameworks, tools, applications using Xcode
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and build systems software
Interest in the UI automation problem space
Passion for developer-focused tools and API design
Comfort with large and established codebases, including complex debugging scenarios
Description
The XCTest team is seeking a creative and highly motivated engineer to help design and build next generation Automation tools and workflows. As a member of the XCTest Engineering team, you’ll work with engineers across Apple to design new features that enhance developer workflows and productivity, focusing heavily on details that enhance the user experience. In this role, you will design and build Xcode’s UI Automation framework. In pursuit of a seamless developer experience, you will be responsible for helping to shape service architectures and APIs, building robust client implementations, and delivering rich user interfaces. Ideal candidates will have a strong passion for software development, testing and automation, a thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, and an appetite to learn the specifics of our systems and tools.
Education & Experience
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Additional Requirements
Professional experience with functional automation frameworks such as XCTest, Selenium, Appium
An understanding of operating system fundamentals
Excellent debugging skills
Passionate about details and comfortable with complex, multi-faceted problem spaces
A successful candidate will be highly motivated, can multi-task, and change priorities quickly as needed
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
