Description

We're hiring a Legal Administrative Assistant to join a team and potentially go permanent with the firm. If you have a strong work ethic and are ready to start working, apply today to be considered. We are open to backgrounds outside of legal including Administrative, Customer Service, Receptionist or possible Retail roles. This position provides the chance to train up and learn the role.

How you will make an impact

Scan and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites

Perform proper checks to ensure copies and originals are error-free

Develop correspondence and memorandum

Be in charge of computer database input and retrieval

Store electronic documents and files

Manage legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed

Log documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals

Ensure documents are ready for photocopying and scanning

Execute word processing, filing and faxing

Supervise matter management and record keeping

Requirements

2+ years of relevant experience in the Legal or Administrative field

Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents

Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions

Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information

Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database

Drafting experience desired

Case management experience preferred

Legal Pleadings experience

Litigation experience preferred

Legal Documentation experience
