Lumina Corps is seeking a senior communications professional to lead a growing department supporting high profile federal clients with strategic science and health communications planning and public health communication projects. Ideal candidates will have experience leading teams and projects on federal public health programs.

What You'll Do
Lead a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality strategies and project activities across the company's portfolio of federal health communication contracts
Set direction and approach on communication strategy across the portfolio, based on subject matter expertise and knowledge of the public health and scientific context
Provide client counsel for approach to communication strategy and maintain trusted relationships with clients
Lead forecasting for the communications group and be responsible for spending budgets efficiently, and managing portfolio contracts to completion within budget
Lead growth and scale of the communications team, forecasting new positions and fostering a culture of professional growth and belonging
Develop overarching project plans for each contract, tracking deliverables against requirements
Regularly assesses client satisfaction and project success, and proactively develop solutions
Engage vendors and subcontracts, and manage contractual relationships
Develop communications deliverables with support from the team
Manage quality control for all communication deliverables ensuring teams follow processes and best practices
Guide project managers on their project oversight and budget management skills
Contribute to securing new business through lead generation and leading technical proposals
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in communications.
Five or more years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role, including supervising project managers and directors and coaching direct reports for project and career success
Subject matter expertise in health communications, public health, social marketing, and digital strategy
Experience in budget forecasting, including allocating staffing hours and costs across project portfolio
Expertise in developing communications and project management SOPs in an environment of growth and scale
This full-time position with benefits can be remote, with time in the office in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland to meet with colleagues and collaborate if feasible.
