What does the role look like?
The Utility Management Lead is a pivotal role responsible for analyzing and managing energy across the site and associated processes. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in engineering principles, energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, and knowledge of electricity and gas markets.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Design, develop, and implement energy-efficient processes and systems for building systems and manufacturing processes.
Research, analyze, and evaluate energy sources, developing effective energy strategies.
Monitor energy performance, identify savings opportunities, and conduct energy audits.
Communicate findings to stakeholders, promoting good working practices to meet energy efficiency goals.
Understand all aspects of energy procurement, consumption, meter analysis, and installation.
Conduct research and development activities to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs.
Organize departmental switch-off campaigns and promote energy reduction programs.
Design and implement energy systems, including renewables, efficiency technologies, and management systems.
Monitor and evaluate energy projects, identifying cost-saving programs.
Demonstrate expertise in various site systems, such as compressed air, electrical distribution, gas networks, heating, etc.
Project manage effluent treatment plant and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain and update Agility CMMS asset register and issue new equipment with plant numbers.
Provide support for lean events in EH&S, Facilities, and Maintenance.
Offer technical advice and support to the business, working independently when needed.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
Demonstrated proficiency in implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, Lean principles, and driving cost reduction initiatives.
Strong attention to detail with creative and out-of-the-box thinking. Ability to provide true and accurate metrics, fostering a data-driven decision-making culture. Proven track record in developing innovative solutions.
Previous experience in a utility management position, showcasing understanding of utility systems, energy procurement, consumption analysis, and efficiency improvements. Proven ability to manage utility-related projects and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Desirable skills:
Degree in Energy Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of energy management systems and HVAC systems.
Experience developing energy efficiency strategies.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Health & Safety training (N.E.B.O.S.H Certificate in Health & Safety).
Contractor management knowledge.
CI Training.
O.N.C in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Understanding of current IEE Electrical Regulations.
18th edition (desirable).
CITB SMSTSS.
Awareness of building regulations.
IOSH Working Safely/Managing Safely.
PASMA/IPAF.
Software – Microsoft Packages, AutoCAD, Agility CMMS
