  Tax – Indirect Tax – JD LLM – Staff 2

  As part of Indirect Tax, you’ll provide a range of domestic and international tax planning services and tax-related advisory services within one of our focus areas that may include: Credits and Incentives, Employment Tax, Indirect Transaction Tax, Property Tax, Value Added Tax and Sales & Use Tax. You’ll be a key member in a team whose combination of knowledge and experience assists clients in determining and implementing appropriate tax planning, while identifying potential risk areas. As part of that, we’ll look to you to get up to speed quickly and get a broad base of knowledge to help you successfully interact with clients and bring innovative ideas to the table. 

   

  EY focuses on a variety of industries including, but not limited to: automotive and transportation, consumer products, health and life sciences, media and entertainment, mining and metals, oil and gas, power and utilities, and technology. Additionally, we have differentially invested in an industry structure that focuses on financial services through our Financial Services Organization (FSO). Candidates electing to join the FSO will focus exclusively on financial services and will have opportunities to serve leading investment banks, retail and commercial banks, insurers and investment managers. Whichever industry you choose, you’ll find no shortage of opportunities to take on new challenges and responsibilities while discovering and developing your strengths and ambitions. 

   

  You’re likely to balance your time between multiple projects and responsibilities, sometimes balancing four to six projects simultaneously. You’ll be trusted to consult on complex tax matters that impact both direct and indirect taxes. As part of that, you’ll research and analyze a client’s issue to get a better understanding of the business need, communicate your findings, and then articulate a solution in a way your client can understand.

  Building on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and applying them to complex situations 

  Providing timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations 

  Building client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of client business 

  Demonstrating professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products 

  Contributing to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery

  Qualifications

  Have or be working toward a JD and/or LLM in Taxation 

  Membership or anticipated membership in a US state bar  

  A strong academic record including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position  

  Excellent communication skills, proficiency in basic MS Office tools, and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language

  The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary

  Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

  A competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The salary range for this job, in the US, is $80,000 - $130,000. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid-time-off options.  Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.  You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial and emotional well-being.
