Sportsman Boats continues to grow and is looking for Tooling Associates who will be responsible for assisting with building, repair and maintenance of boat molds. If you have a good attention to detail, enjoy building and repairing items, restoring them to the highest quality, this may be a great fit for you.
What you will do:
Build production molds for new and existing product lines
Fabricate based on engineering designs and specifications
Inspect and finish fiberglass molds to a Class A surface
Select the proper methods to complete work such as grinding, sanding, glassing, spraying, resurfacing, and reshaping
Sand up to 1200 grit finish to ensure high quality smooth surfaces
Long block sanding
Work with putty, paste, fillers, fairing compounds, adhesives, bonds
Work with spray guns, rollers or paint brushes
Work with other departments such as engineering, quality, production, and warranty
To be considered you must have:
Good eye sight to sufficiently inspect and determine defects
Experience operating small tools, air/hand tools, buffers, drills, sanders and grinders
Ability to follow instructions, work alone and part of a team
Experience spraying paint, gel coat, primer
Strong attention to detail
Ability to comply with safety guidelines
Comprehension of chemicals used in this process
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires lifting, standing, kneeling, bending, arm and shoulder movements
High school diploma or GED
This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. This role routinely wears protective clothing and masks.
