This position is responsible for verifying, recording and releasing vehicle titles on collateral-secured loan accounts, processing payoff checks, as well as securing collateral with perfected vehicle titles. A significant degree of creativity, data analysis, initiative, and problem-solving skills are required in order to effectively deal with title related issues.With no budgetary responsibilities, the Title Specialist files documentation, researches incomplete files, supports the operation of the department and demonstrates teamwork. This position has limited supervision of work and handles inquiries and issues pertaining to title documentation and lien recording, processes specialized requests for title information changes or transfers, works with dealerships, members and the DMV to secure title, generates daily tracking reports and prepares corresponde ce to obtain missing documents, reconciles tracking system, supports the monitoring of records, supports the phone queue and works cooperatively with the team to accomplish work. The individual must be motivated and ambitious in order to perform all of the duties associated with the position.EDUCATION:* General and business knowledge equivalent to a high school diplomaCERTIFICATIONS:* Notary Public or the ability to obtain within six months of employmentEXPERIENCE:* 2 or more years of related experienceSKILLS:* Decision making requires the ability to choose form options outlined in established procedures* Courtesy and tact are essential elements to the job* Knowledge and experience with title laws, including the process in other states* Good interpersonal and communication skills* Must demonstrate a professional attitude* Familiarity with PCs and applicable softwarePREFERENCES:* NoneCORE COMPETENCIES:* Effective knowledge* Accountability and self-management* Teamwork and leadership* Communication* Innovation and problem-solvingWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing* Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading* Ability to sit for extended time periods* Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment* Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel* Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
