This role is HYBRID, on-site 3 days a week at either the Chicago or Northbrook, IL Office.
We are seeking a Tax Analyst focused on tax technology to join our forward-minded tax department. This position is a hands-on process, data, and technology -focused position reporting to the Manager-Tax Accounting. However, this role will have the opportunity to support the broader Tax Team with various domestic and international processes and projects involving technology. The Tax Department is a collaborative organization which works closely with Legal, Strategic Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Human Resources, and Business Operations globally.
The role will leverage tax technology tools (e.g., OneSource suite of products), data analysis and automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Blue Prism, Power Automate, Python), financial systems (e.g., Oracle EPM Cloud / FCCS) and advanced knowledge of Excel to support tax compliance, planning, and tax accounting (ASC 740) functions. The ability to leverage these technologies in a continuous improvement environment alongside documenting and disseminating processes will enable professional success. This position provides the individual with an opportunity to work across the Tax and Finance organization in a dynamic environment. This individual will need to stay current on certain global tax concepts and principles through training and research to fulfill their duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initiate and assist in the implementation of departmental process improvements utilizing key technologies and tools, such as Excel and the suite of Microsoft 365 products (Power BI / Power Automate); assist with documentation of said improvements by preparing process manuals, maps, and checklists for the tax team staff relating to revised processes and use of tools.
Maintain tax systems for the tax reporting and compliance processes.
Support the Tax Planning team with data analytics and modeling scenarios.
Partner with Information Technology and Finance teams to coordinate on implementation of company-wide transformation initiatives.
Assist tax team with the data intensive tax computations associated with US federal, state, and international tax compliance.
Prepare various state and federal tax returns and analyze tax accounts as needed.
Assist in collecting and analyzing financial data for purposes of calculating the quarterly and year-end income tax provisions.
Assist with the US and foreign tax provision portion for financial statement income tax disclosures.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field - with CPA, MST a plus.
Minimum 2 years of related experience in either public accounting or mid-to-large size industry.
Solid project and process management skills.
Self-starter that possesses strong communication, organization and analytical skills and can multi-task with accuracy and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to drive projects and assigned work to completion.
Experience with automation toolsets such as Power BI and Power Automate, tax software (e.g., OneSource) as well as experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle/SAP) and consolidation systems (e.g., Oracle HFM/FCCS).
Corporate federal and state tax experience in compliance and/or provision functions preferred.
