About Tax payroll

  Jefferson Wells is seeking Tax Accountants with a strong background in payroll tax, 1099 processing, and W2 processing. This is a remote project opportunity, paying W2 50- $85 hr.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Payroll Tax Management:

  Calculate, prepare, and file payroll tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes.

  Stay up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  Resolve any payroll tax-related issues and discrepancies.

  1099 and W2 Processing:

  Manage the preparation and distribution of 1099 forms for contractors and vendors.

  Handle the accurate processing of W2 forms for employees.

  Ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and regulations.

  Client Advisory:

  Provide expert advice to clients on payroll tax matters, including tax planning and compliance.

  Assist clients with tax-related inquiries and help them understand their tax obligations.

  Record Keeping:

  Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and client correspondence.

  Organize and manage all relevant documentation for audit purposes.

  Compliance and Reporting:

  Keep track of all relevant tax deadlines and ensure timely filings.

  Prepare regular tax reports for clients and management.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant certification is a plus.

  Proven experience in payroll tax management, 1099 and W2 processing.

  Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
