These are full-time summer positions beginning in Mayor June. This position is full-time Monday-Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm with ahalf hour unpaid lunch during the summer months. Starting pay: \$17.48.Job Summary Student Laborers perform operator qualification duties (i.e.meter maintenance, cathodic protection reading, gas leak surveys,atmospheric corrosion surveys, facilities inspection, meter painting,and miscellaneous duties (e.g. cleaning, maintenance, clericalfunctions) as assigned by the department. Student laborers work may beperformed in the corporate offices, district offices, power plants,service center, warehouse, and other field locations. JobResponsibilities Student Laborer duties may include (based on location &business need): Meter Painting (Using Cathodic Protection Readingtechniques within Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 Part 199) GasLeak Survey (e.g. Check for gas leaks, document, and escalateappropriately) Facility Inspections (e.g. Inspect meter sets for gasodor or damage caused by vehicles or ice. Look for obstructions. Checkfor extreme settling, support problems and for exhaust vents above themeter set.) Atmospheric Corrosion Survey (e.g. perform survey toidentify and/or prevent atmospheric corrosion, pitting corrosion, orloose paint) Outdoor Maintenance (e.g. yard maintenance/planting, lawnmowing, painting, snow removal, wash/dry vehicles, equipment, &facilities, basic landscaping, window washing, etc.) All other laborerduties as assigned (e.g. running equipment to field locations, flagging,errands, etc.) Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or olderHigh School diploma, GED, or HSED Enrolled as a full-time or part-timestudent pursuing a technical, associate, bachelor, or master degree.
