　　GE Global Research operates as a technology development hub for the businesses of General Electric Company. 　　GE Research spearheads this charter by the development and deployment of AI and ML based solutions that execute on industrial devices, both on-prem or on the cloud. We are looking to grow our team of Software researchers who dabble with data science, NLP and other interesting areas to solve problems across domains of Aviation, Renewables, Additive and Healthcare at GE Global Research in Bangalore and are looking for Passionate technologists with at least 2 -3 years of post-qualification experience who want to be part of this exciting journey.

　　The role in GRC requires the candidate to work on upcoming innovations in the area of Software and Analytics. He/she will work on scalable software frameworks that will be used by thousands of modelers from across businesses to experiment and create next generation analytics for industrial needs. She/he shall be responsible for designing and building a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business.

　　Your Day at work at GRC

　　Working on digital solutions along with other researchers and product teams of businesses

　　Come up with design for different solutions aligning to the overall technology direction with a platform mindset, ensure different elements fit to the big picture and are reusable

　　Support team in technical risk retirement and in buy-build decisions

　　Drives functional design and implementation on one or more major modules. Drives design reviews, defines interfaces between code modules, and applies existing technology to designs.

　　Demonstrates the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment.

　　Understands whole product, its modules and the interrelationship between them while being an expert in the assigned component or module. Helps in designing interfaces and information exchange between modules. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on one or more major modules.

　　Possesses advanced domain knowledge and shows great customer focus.

　　Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions.

　　Expert in processes / methodologies and Skilled in build, release & deployment processes.

　　Expert in assessing application performance and optimizing/improving it through design and best coding practices.

　　Expert in core data structures as well as algorithms and has the ability to implement them using language chosen.

　　Qualifications/Requirements:

　　Masters / PhD Degree in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

　　A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience on products in Industrial domains

　　Experience of working in industrial domains (Aviation, Energy, Healthcare etc.)

　　Passionate about programming. Hands on experience in software development covering different technologies (Web/HTML5/JS, Angular, TDD/BDD, Spring, REST, Docker, Java/Node, SQL/NoSQL, Java/C++, Python, Spark)

　　Experience with adhering to Product security

　　Comfortable working with large, heterogeneous data-sets in relational and non-relational environments

　　Data Science: statistical, machine learning, deep learning/computer vision, NLP etc

　　Information Visualization and presentation

　　Sound knowledge of Software design and design patterns

　　Worked on scalable systems

　　Experience in Enterprise / Cloud software development in an Agile environment

　　Self-starter and can work in ambiguous environments

　　Excellent communication skills

　　Desired Characteristics:

　　Experience in Cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) AWS / Azure

　　Experience with OpenStack technologies, deployment and configuration

　　Excellent knowledge with development tools & integrated build systems: Eclipse IDE,

　　Git/Jenkins/Maven

　　Enthusiastically follow technology trends, software engineering best practice and technologies while enjoying the challenge of solving complex problems

　　Experience with query and performance optimization and database design

　　Exposure to Agile development practices

　　Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members.

　　Shows ability to effectively delegate work.
