Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position is a key member of the University Accounting Services team. The position is primarily responsible for supporting daily and monthly financial responsibilities. The appointee will also assist in developing analytical procedures and recommending process improvements. Job duties include but are not limited to:
Review and approve Departmental Charge Authorizations (DCA’s), including end-user support.
Responsible for University wide inventory tracking as well as the related fixed asset accounting and reconciliation.
Oversees and posts daily transmittals and journal entries as needed.
Periodic uploads into Banner and review daily control reports.
Participates in the annual financial statement audit including preparation of assigned footnotes.
Serve as backup support to FinSecurity finance module access.
Assists in reviewing escheat database and preparation of the Unclaimed Property Holder Report to be submitted to individual States and reconcile the related general ledger account.
Other duties tasks as assigned.
Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
One year of professional experience in different aspects of administration and business practices related to the finance field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education or nonprofit industry.
Knowledge of or prior experience with Ellucian Banner (ERP) and Cognos (reporting writer) is preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to complete projects timely and accurately.
Ability to think and work independently.
Strong communication skills
Work well individually and in a team.
Knowledge of GAAP
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office - emphasis on Excel.
Salary:
Range P18 ($52,513-$59,694)
