About Software Engineer - Live Telepresence with Codec Avatars

You can help us make this dream a reality and accomplish your life’s best work here!In the Live Telepresence group, we focus on enabling immersive telepresence by leveraging Codec Avatars, and building the tools, frameworks, machine learning pipelines, and VR/AR applications, to help users experience Live Telepresence and empower researchers toward the generation of Codec Avatars.

  Required Skills:

  Software Engineer - Live Telepresence with Codec Avatars Responsibilities:

  Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, integrate, debug and test real-time AR and VR software for realistic telepresence. Participate in design reviews and code reviews

  Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making architectural trade-offs required to rapidly deliver software solutions

  Work with research scientists and engineers to understand challenges in building state-of-the-art software systems

  Write clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize ruthlessly and work efficiently

  Learn constantly, educate others, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving

  Propose and implement reliable, maintainable, and scalable system-level software solutions to facilitate research activities

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  3+ years experience with modern C++ and/or Python

  Experience developing APIs, SDKs and developer tools, or developing reliable multi-stage deep learning pipelines

  Experience working independently and in highly dynamic environments

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Preferred Qualifications:

  3+ years experience with C#, game engines such as Unity, or developing AR/VR applications

  3+ years hands-on experience with PyTorch

  Experiences in working with large-scale datasets, developing deep learning training frameworks, and developing PyTorch extensions in C++ or CUDA

  Experience with software development and debugging on Windows, Linux, and Android

  Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases that span platforms and tools

  Experience in profiling software performance, including Machine Learning or Graphics workloads

  Experience developing software for Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, or Robotics applications

  Experience with real-time communication, networking, and inter-process communication

  Experience with real-time rendering with OpenGL/Vulkan and modern real-time computer graphics pipelines

  Experience with parallel computing with GPU’s using CUDA

  Strong understanding of machine learning, computer vision and 3D geometry concepts, with experience in developing and deploying computer vision applications

  Experience developing and debugging in large cluster environments

  Public Compensation:

  $117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
