Job Overview
The Sleep Technician 2 performs polysomnographic diagnostic and/ortherapeutic testing and analysis to assist sleep clinicians with the diagnosisand treatment of sleep disorders and sleep related breathing disorders.Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance is available to those moving froma distance of 100 miles or greater.

Qualifications
EDUCATION - High School Diploma or equivalent required.EXPERIENCE - One year of experience performing sleep disorders testing andtherapeutic intervention, within a pediatric setting required.EQUIVALENCY - Three years of experience performing sleep disorders testing andtherapeutic intervention with adults will substitute for the minimumexperience requirement.CERTIFICATION(S) - Basic Life Support (BLS) required.LICENSURE - Required: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). For daytime sleep techs onlyCertification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) will be considered.

These examples do not include all of thefunctions which the employee may be expected to perform.Educates and interacts with patients and their families during the course ofcare; interviews patient and family to obtain information needed to completepre-test paperwork.Sets up and calibrates monitoring equipment; with assistance,troubleshoots and maintains equipment, ensuring signals are received on thecomputer and all monitors are re ording data throughout the sleep study.Performs patient set-up and monitors patient's physiological response duringroutine testing.Participates in the evaluation of changes in patient condition, documentingsigns and symptoms which require notification and/or intervention of aphysician.Initiates and titrates therapy (supplemental oxygen and/or nasal positiveairway pressure) based upon physician's orders and established sleepcenter protocols.Build and maintains strong working relationships with multidisciplinaryhealthcare providers to provide individualized patient/family care andeducation.
