The shipping clerk position sets up delivery schedules/routes and sets up the carrier to deliver the finished goods. Whirlwinds goal is to provide fabricated structures for families, congregations and businesses, in the most efficient manner while maintaining a safe work environment. The role of the Shipping Clerk is crucial to the overall delivery of our products. Responsibilities: * Performs routine clerical duties including data entry and assisting customers. * Coordinate loading activities through planning with Shipping Manager and Manufacturing personnel to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. * Schedule carriers for delivery of loads (company drivers/common carriers), make sure to give an accurate pick up time. * Keep Oracle up to date with pertinent information. * Keep premium freight to a minimum. * Resolve issues regarding any shipped order. Qualifications: * Proven work experience as a shipping role. * Adequate knowledge of shipping processes. * Knowledge of common carriers. * Excellent computer skills. * Ability to communicate concisely both written and verbally. * Strong people skills. * High School diploma or higher.
