About the Team
Our Customer Connect team is looking for a Sr Product Owner who is passionate about the customer experience and has analytical and multi-tasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role is responsible for reviewing the long-term Salesforce enabled business roadmap for the multiple channels, ensuring that cross functional product, delivery and business teams are working in concert to deliver business value. The individual will have an intimate knowledge of the current state of the business and technology and implements the plan to achieve the desired future state.
About the Job
The Product Owner is in charge of overseeing the development and improvement of products as well as determining future product needs based on customer feedback. Business technology and user experience are intertwined in their work. In order to determine the product vision, they consider the customer's needs as well as the competition. A strategic and tactical role is executed by them and they pivot between different functions within the company. To maximize return on investment, they look after the product to achieve its business goals. Must be Salesforce Service Cloud and Admin certified and must have worked in multiple Salesforce implementations in their prior projects. Basic administrative functions including user accounts, report and dashboard development and maintenance, security configurations, permissions, workflows and approval process. Prior experience is telecommunication is an ideal requirement.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View
Defining the product vision: The Product Owner is responsible for establishing a clear vision for the Salesforce application, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives, and communicating this vision to the development team and stakeholders.
Gathering and prioritizing requirements: The Product Owner works closely with various stakeholders, including end-users, business analysts, and management, to gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements and user needs.
Maintaining the product backlog: The Product Owner creates and maintains the product backlog, which is a prioritized list of features, enhancements, and bug fixes for the Salesforce application. They ensure that the backlog is well-organized, up-to-date, and aligned with business priorities.
Collaborating with the development team: The Product Owner works closely with the Salesforce development team, providing them with guidance, clarification, and feedback on requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. They also facilitate communication between the development team and other stakeholders.
Participating in Scrum ceremonies: The Product Owner actively participates in Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective, ensuring that the team stays focused on delivering high-value features and improvements.
Accepting or rejecting work: The Product Owner is responsible for reviewing and accepting or rejecting completed work based on the predefined acceptance criteria. They ensure that the delivered features meet the requirements and provide the expected value to the users and the business.
Monitoring progress and performance: The Product Owner tracks the progress of the project using metrics such as velocity, burn-up or burn-down charts, and release forecasts. They use this information to make informed decisions about priorities, scope, and timelines.
Stakeholder management: The Product Owner manages relationships with various stakeholders, including end-users, management, and other business units, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed and that they are kept informed about the project's progress.
Continuous improvement: The Product Owner promotes a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to reflect on their performance, identify areas for growth, and implement necessary changes. Validate the Product changes in PROD environment and identify any issues proactively and engage development team.
Keeping up-to-date with Salesforce:
As a Salesforce Product Owner, it's essential to stay informed about the latest Salesforce features, technologies, and best practices. This helps ensure that the developed applications leverage the platform's full capabilities and adhere to industry standards.
Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field is often preferred. However, relevant experience and certifications may sometimes compensate for the lack of formal education.
Salesforce Certifications: A Salesforce certification, such as Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Platform App Builder, demonstrates a strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and its capabilities and Salesforce service cloud certification.
Product Management Certifications: Certifications in product management or Agile methodologies, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), showcase expertise in Agile product management principles and practices.
Experience: Prior experience working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Project Manager in an Agile environment is essential. Experience with Salesforce projects or technologies is highly beneficial.
Agile Mindset: A strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, along with the ability to adapt and apply them to different situations, is crucial for a Salesforce Product Owner.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical for effectively collaborating with team members, stakeholders, and end-users, as well as for documenting requirements and user stories.
Leadership Skills: The ability to lead, inspire, and motivate team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement is essential for a successful Salesforce Product Owner.
Problem-solving Skills: Being able to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions is important for a Product Owner.
Time Management Skills: A Product Owner must be able to effectively manage their time and prioritize tasks, ensuring that requirements, user stories, and other responsibilities are completed efficiently.
Interpersonal Skills: Building relationships and working effectively with diverse team members, stakeholders, and management is crucial for a Salesforce Product Owner.
Our Senior-Technology Business Analysis earn between $$118,10 -$178,200. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
