Join our team at the forefront of advancing communication systems for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. This role is part of a dynamic program focused on Engineering and Operations, driving continuous improvements in the design, transition, operations, and service of LAN, WAN, and Unified Communication services across classified and unclassified networks.
As an experienced UC and VTC Engineer, you will provide expert design, analysis, research, and operation support to exceptionally complex UC and VTC problems. You will work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination of efforts. The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally.
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
Being the go-to person in the UC and VTC team to solve complex operational issues.Provide support, analysis, research, and advice on exceptionally complex voice/video/data problems and related performance issues.Lead subsets of team members on solving specific problems/challenges.Perform specialized and technical tasks associated with the most current and cutting-edge technologies.Evaluate requirements and help develop solutions that address both operation and future requirements sets.Document data flows by diagrams network topologies, interconnections, firewalls, and security gateways.Develop and document rack elevations, power requirements for component deployment and use.Collaborate with LAN/WAN teams on bandwidth requirements, utilization, and performance needs.Work with technical writers to create comprehensive design and configuration documentation, installation procedures, operating instructions and troubleshooting guides.Work with testers to evaluate test criteria and expected outcomes, create, and automate test cases, test data, test scripts, and exercise unit tests on lab hardware and software.Collaborate with technical writers to evaluate OEM training materials and develop customer- or site-specific supplements to vendor materials.Manage projects and develop new operational processes.Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.Provide effective team collaboration and influence others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures.Required Experience, Education, Skills and Technologies:
Years of experience with one of the following:High School/GED plus nine (9) years of relevant experienceAssociate degree plus seven (7) years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree plus five (5) years of relevant experienceMaster's degree plus three (3) years of relevant experienceDoctorate degree plus one (1) year of relevant experienceDOD 8140 certification(s): IAT II, CUCM Manager CourseStrong background in general network troubleshooting (vLANs, QoS, and Routing).Background in Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, and Communications and Network Systems ManagementSeasoned technical individual contributor (IC).Works independently with limited supervision.Security Clearance Level:
TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph or TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (preferred)Work Schedule:
