　　Position Overview

　　As a Senior Backend Engineer in a growing AI-based product team at Autodesk, you will play a leading role in the architecture and development of a high-performance cloud platform that will help our customers imagine, design, and make a better world.

　　You are a talented, motivated, and experienced software engineer who is passionate about solving problems and building things. You are excited to collaborate with frontend, machine learning, and operations teams to implement a state-of-the art application backend that serves real-time AI-generated content in browser-based design applications.

　　You will report to the Senior Manager - Machine Learning Engineering.

　　While the location of this role is flexible, we prefer to have our engineers close to the teams in Berlin, Germany. Autodesk works in a hybrid working model, allowing you to work remotely, in an office, or a mix of both.

　　Key Responsibilities

　　Co-architect the high-performance backend of our web-based, ML-powered applicationsImplement robust platform components in an iterative mannerWrite high-quality, clean, and efficient code in line with our development standards.Contribute to writing and maintaining test automationCollaborate with your team members to translate business requirements into high-quality micro-servicesProactively evaluate and address issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility of the systemsResearch and prototype novel ideas, technologies, and patterns relating to your tasks.Thought leadership for back-end technologies, frameworks, and architecture

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　BSc or MSc in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experienceMinimum of 5 years of hands-on experience developing cloud services and applicationsStrong proficiency in Python-based web services, with a proven track record of implementing robust solutions.Strong experience with scalable cloud infrastructures, particularly AWSThorough understanding of web protocols and latest standardsProven ability to design, develop, and document beautiful RESTful APIsProficiency in working with high-performance NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with test-driven development and CI/CD tools like Docker, JenkinsAbility to initiate and lead initiatives, driving projects from concept to successful execution.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to architect and implement elegant solutions to complex challenges.

　　Proficiency in FastAPI, with a focus on building efficient and scalable solutionsExpertise in designing and implementing microservice architecturesDemonstrated experience in serving ML models, ensuring optimal integration and performanceExperience with gRPC, for building efficient and scalable communication systemsExperience in streaming protocols like WebSockets, WebRTC, with a focus on real-time data processingAbility to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changes and delivering high-quality results
