　　Summary / Role Purpose

　　The Senior R&D Verification Engineer joins the Release Management Unit and is responsible for the software testing of Ansys Licensing as a Service (LaaS), a high availability RESTful service hosted on Azure. This role uses advanced engineering and software skills to assess how well the service meets customer needs for functionality and usability and ensures that requirements and quality standards are met. The role works closely with other members of the service development team and communicates with technical specialists on service issues.

　　Licensing as a Service is Ansys's new platform for a web-hosted licensing solution that is quickly growing and striving to reach its potential. LaaS hosts multiple license models each with their own requirements and use case. It is a business critical service that requires rigorous and thorough testing to ensure it meets, and continues to meet, the stringent requirements of its growing user base.

　　Key Duties and Responsibilities

　　Specify and write test cases, create, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scriptsCreate and maintain a suite of API tests to validate development changes and verify adherence to API requirementsWork with developers to discover edge cases and ensure service qualityPerform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and automated test environmentsMonitor regression and continuous performance tests, identify and highlight issuesCreate test plans and contribute to testing initiatives, responsible for coverage analysis and testing metrics in specific areas, participate in defect managementApply technical and professional knowledge in specialized areas and investigate complex product issues and problemsAnalyze product requirements and develop tests for new featuresWork with other Licensing layers to ensure coverage of end-to-end testsCoordinate testing efforts with application testing teams using Licensing as a ServiceWork in a variety of computing environments: Windows, Linux, VM's, Cloud

　　Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

　　BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years of experience, MS with 3 years of experience, or PhD with one year of experienceStrong computing skills with demonstrated knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON schemas, sustainable testing practices, requirements and needs of maintaining a business-critical serviceCommercial experience with JavaScript and/or JS test frameworks (e.g. Mocha), using and testing REST APIs, Python and Python-based testing tools

　　Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with testing a distributed API service, OpenAPI specifications, testing in an Agile development process, Azure tools and resources (Application Insights, Cosmos DB, Kubernetes, etc.), Node.jsExperience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial organizationUnderstanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domainGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
