About Senior Program Manager , Global Transportation

  Description

  Amazon’s EU Global Transportation Service (GTS) is hiring an enthusiastic and customer obsessed Sr Program Manager to join the EU Trans Systems and Configuration Optimization team. The role involves in-depth understanding of the physical and digital transportation processes, from our Fulfillment Centers on to our final mile carriers who deliver packages to our customers.

  Key job responsibilities

  Create innovative solutions using data and research to address wider challenges in your organization

  Take a big-picture approach in your analysis of business operations, driving improvements and optimization across a range of teams and organizations

  Work alongside senior leadership to establish and prioritize optimization programmes, seeing them through from start to finish

  Enhance operational performance on every programme in partnership with your stakeholders

  Coordinate multiple cross-functional projects in parallel across Tech, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance and across organizations against tight deadlines while driving competing priorities

  Finding root causes for recurring problems and inventing new tools and processes to avoid them

  Analyze large quantities of data and turning them into crisp insights through visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Quicksight, PowerBI).

  Identify and drive opportunities to optimize our transportation systems in partnership with tech and business teams

  A day in the life

  As a Senior PM, you will drive network optimization through the in-depth knowledge on the capability of our transportation systems mapped to business intent. You will leverage systems and operations expertise to influence business decisions and define what good looks like. You will transform the way we translate business needs across systems, in line with Amazon' goals to bring positive impact on the network, our end customer, as well as internal metrics such as cost, delivery accuracy or speed.

  Successful Sr Program Managers in the role demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, ability to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environment. You are required to be detail-oriented and comfortable in working with multiple business and technical teams, influencing across business functions and managing stakeholders’ expectations effectively.

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Luxembourg, LUX

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor degree or equivalent

  5+ years of relevant experience working in a supply chain, logistics, or operations environment

  Excellence in problem solving, with a demonstrated ability to bring structure to complex projects and break them down into smaller pieces

  Relevant experience communicating with and influencing a range of different stakeholders including senior management

  Relevant experience in managing large-scale programmes or projects

  Business level of English

  Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions

  Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL

  Experience in story-telling though visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Quicksight, PowerBI)

  Experience defining program requirements and using data/metrics to determine what good looks like

  Experience working in a cross-functional environment with tech and non-tech teams

  Preferred Qualifications

  Advanced or Master’s degree

  6-8 years of relevant experience working in a supply chain, logistics, or operations environment

  Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Prince2 certifications, or any other project management certification

  Experience in conceptualizing and implementing operational or supply-chain management improvements
