Job Description

　　Insight Global's utility client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who is focused on hydropower plant projects. The candidate must sit within a 250-mile radius of Chattanooga, TN, and be willing to go into the office twice/month. They will be responsible for mechanical system design for hydropower plants, coal-powered plants, or combined cycle power plants. This will include the design of piping, valves, pumps, rotors, impellors, turbines, etc. They will go to project sites, scope out the work/job, write proposals, estimate man hours, then oversee the designers for the design, and create engineering documents for the role. Types of projects could include hydro life extension projects, modifications to generators for propellors or impellors, and upgrades to existing equipment.

　　Skills and Requirements

　　B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

　　 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering piping/pumps/valve, etc. specifically within a power generation plant, Oil and gas plant, or pulp/paper plant.

　　 EIT / FE passed. Ability to relocate to Chattanooga, TN

　　 PE license

　　 Experience designing for power generation plants.

　　 Experience working for a multi-disciplined engineering firm/team. null
