Description:
Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design, develop, testing, and commercialization of mechanical systems electromechanical devices, within the Craniomaxillofacial division.
With guidance from a Technical Lead, you will navigate defined design practices and use sound engineering principles to ensure that the designed medical devices are safe, robust and exceed customer expectations.
This role requires an understanding of key technical activities such as CAD, Engineering Drawings/GD&T, FEA, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
This individual contributor is required to frequently interface with cross functional divisional counterparts (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, etc.) across a variety of Stryker sites working towards product development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical & 3-5 years of work experience
Specific name of CAD tool, etc.
Fundamental knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles
Basic knowledge of design and concept generation utilizing CAD (Creo) and CAE tools.
Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods.
Ability to read and Interpret complex drawings
Basic knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods.
Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills
A good analytic and mathematics understanding
Excels at problem solving (Ability to work through each problem, use case, etc., and find the root cause, then provide potential solutions; methodical).
Conducts stress analysis.
Strong technical ability to develop and optimize designs for mechanical / electro-mechanical assemblies incorporating DFM principles.
Ability to communicate moderate complexity plans and technical information to team members.
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies.
Experience designing & developing within a New Product Development phase or stage-gate process.
