Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Senior Manager of Alumni Relations.
Reporting to the Director, Business Development Strategy & Operations, the Senior Manager will be responsible for assessing the current program, recommending improvements, and creating and executing an effective business development strategy to increase alumni engagement and business growth. This position will require working collaboratively with colleagues in business development and across various internal firm departments, including HR, IT, Marketing, Communications, PR, Creative, Brand Management and Events.
The ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational skills, a blend of project leadership, business analysis, executive communication, and process management. He or she will have a demonstrated track record of building and maintaining a robust alumni program and must have the poise and ability to build relationships with multiple constituents, influence action, and achieve results. This is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in the business development planning for an AmLaw Top 10 firm.
This position can be resident in our Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or Washington D.C. office and offers a flexible hybrid in-office/remote working arrangement.
Key responsibilities include:
Design, build, and implement an exceptional alumni program that is unparalleled in the legal industry and develop the strategy and infrastructure necessary to support the program's goals.Develop and execute on plans to increase business opportunities from existing and new alumni clients.Plan and execute on alumni focused activities (e.g., regular networking events, office activities, and external community gatherings) that align with the alumni program and support the business development goals and objectives, including the Client Alliance Program (CAP), Industry and Practice Group initiatives.Track alumni engagement and ROI, compile metrics and analytics, and prepare reports on progress.Work with the PR/communications team to develop and execute on an external and internal communications plan that engages clients and builds alumni brand recognition, including newsletters, content for the alumni portal, spotlight interviews, thought leadership pieces, speaking opportunities, and social media outreach.Raise internal awareness by creating materials that clearly articulate the value, benefits, and goals of the alumni program and develop programs to drive alumni engagement.Learn Morgan Lewis' key clients and industries, especially those that include strong alumni ties.Manage and support career placement opportunities, including helping to fill client openings and assisting with associate transitions.Work closely with the recruiting team to identify opportunities for alumni.Generate high quality work product in multiple formats (e.g., presentation slides, Excel project plans, Word documents).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish multiple assignments and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of progressively responsible business development and/or client relations experience with at least five (5) years of experience managing mid to large-scale projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Law firm or other professional services experience is preferred.Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategic business plans.Experience excelling in a highly matrixed environment and working across multiple business units and functional teams.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals.Excellent written and oral communication skills and effective presentation skills.Results oriented with time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.Commitment to exceptional client service and dedication to high-quality work.Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent, sound judgment to influence decision-making and effectively interface with executive management.Ability to work independently as well as manage projects and assignments in a collaborative team environment.Discretion in dealing with confidential information.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Interaction, and knowledge of platforms/website/social media tools and resources a plus.

For positions in New York, NY and San Francisco CA, the salary range for this job posting is $142,244.00 - $277,591.00
For positions in Los Angeles and Orange County, CA, the salary range for this job posting is $ 130,865.00 - $209,383.00
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
