Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Senior Manager of Data Engineering. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the data engineering initiatives, ensuring the effective management of data flow that result in the successful delivery of analytics readouts and leading a team of skilled data engineers.
Example responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and execute the data engineering strategy aligned with the overall business goals.
Provide direction for the data engineering team, fostering innovation and excellence in execution.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and synergy in data initiatives.
Data Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and robust data infrastructure.
Ensure the security, availability, quality and performance of data systems.
Data Architecture:
Define and implement data architecture standards, ensuring optimal data flow and integration across systems.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
Partner closely with IT and other business departments to integrate data engineering processes into the broader technology landscape.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and enforce data quality standards, conducting regular audits and assessments.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
Proven track record of successfully managing and leading data engineering teams.
Proficiency in data engineering technologies and tools (e.g., SQL, ETL frameworks, big data technologies).
Strong understanding of data architecture principles and coding best practices.
Gitlab and agile scrum experience.
Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute data engineering strategies.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
Proven experience in driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
8+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership role.

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $181,100 - $316,900, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
