At Daikin Applied, the Senior Cost Accountant will report to the Senior Controller and be part of a strong financial team that collaborates, shares skills and strengths, is strategically focused, and sees beyond the data. You will be the cost accounting leader for a growing $800M division of Daikin Applied a global leader in the HVAC industry. A Day in the Life: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular Cost Accounting Activities Monitor and analyze purchase price variance (PPV) Maintain cost accounting periods in Oracle Reconcile monthly inventory activity for three plants Analyze and identify trends in material usage variances Manage cost issues that prevent accurate cost rollup Assist with intercompany activities Develop and analyze quarterly excess & obsolete (E&O) reports Develop and analyze quarterly FIFO (capitalized variances) reports Prepare and submit cost-related journal entries and accruals What You Will Accomplish Lead finance position for inventory control (cycle count monitoring, physical inventory) Work with finance team in development of annual standard material, labor and overhead costs Participate in kaizen events with other departments and take part in implementing change Assist in development of annual and mid-year budgets Develop and analyze reports that will help drive decision making What's in It For You: Medical/Dental/Vision coverage, PTO, 401K match, support for community involvement and much more! Makes timely decisions. Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university (Finance, Accounting, Business degree preferred).
