Overview
This position is responsible for the leadership and management of the Basel III Strategic Transformation program across First Citizens Bancshares, Inc. Gain expert level knowledge to collaborate with business leaders and executives on Regulatory Reporting programs that will support the achievement of business objectives, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Leading the preparation, review, analysis, and timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports to the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and state regulators with a heavy focus on the Bank's Basel III implementation program. This position is responsible for providing guidance and ensuring the Bank adheres to all governmental regulations and laws. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) and serves as mentor to other team members. Evaluates program effectiveness and delivers tactical insight through reporting to senior management and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Become a subject matter expert of Basel III regulation.Maintain current and extensive knowledge of the laws and regulatory guidelines ensuring adherence. Identifies trends and advises on appropriate course of actions. Serves as subject matter expert regarding knowledge resources for all regulatory reporting matters.Lead regulatory reporting compliance processes, programs, and change management initiatives for the department. Works closely with auditors and examiners during regulatory compliance examinations. Collects, analyzes, and reports on relevant statistics. Acts as the main contact source for outside audit companies. Manages the dissemination of compliance-related information to Bank associates. Develops and administers compliance training programs.Build and maintains relationships with peers, senior and functional managers across the Bank, providing subject matter expert guidance to ensure regulatory reporting data is timely and accurate. Liaises with senior and executive management to oversee certain compliance procedures and offer risk management advice.Strong program management experience in large scale projects, working with large and diverse teams with solid knowledge of Regulatory Reporting and/ or Corporate Treasury. Collaborate with the stakeholders, manage deliverables, interdependencies, track milestones with respective accountable owners and understand all requirements.Ability to translate concerns/needs into options and communicate effectively and concisely at all levels, both verbal and written..Strong presentation and documentation skills, proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SharePoint.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Finance or Program Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Finance or Program Management.
Preferred qualifications:
Understanding of financial products (e.g. loans, securities, derivatives, etc.).Understanding of regulatory reporting instructions and banking regulations.Ability to read and interpret regulatory guidance and instructions and assess applicability to the BankAbility to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity.Experience in Program Management, and Regulatory Reporting, Corporate Treasury and Risk Management. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Risk assessment experience required.Leadership acumen, ability to influence and negotiate with disparate parties. Ability to drive projects forward and adopt new processes and projects.Clear and strong written and verbal communication skills.CPA or CFA.
