Position Overview:
The Project Engineer Intern will work with our Industrial Services team. This position is responsible for ensuring that the project(s) runs smoothly and if any issues occur, they are corrected immediately. This position will report to the Project Engineer OR Superintendent. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol pre-employment and on-going testing. Experience working in a heavy, industrial construction setting a plus, but individuals with strong computer skills and ability to work a diverse group of individuals required.

This position will be a (PAID) Internship position.
Job Duties
Maintain a daily project diary and help establish project priorities
Daily timecard entry and approval
Track and record project costs, production quantities, yield statistics, and onsite inventory counts
Compile cycle times and production information and log this information for historical data
Gather pay item quantities and collect information on extra work items
Conduct timely billing and reporting to maximize profit margins and positive cash flow
Manage and maintain department specific technology and computer programs
Document schedule delays and perform schedule updates
Assemble and distribute project plans and specifications updates
Sustain a comprehensive understanding of the plans and specifications
Coordinate efforts with management, project technicians, and customers to maintain and meet project scheduling
Provide environment where dynamic project communication occurs between Project Technicians, Management, Superintendents and customers to ensure work is accomplished in an efficient, profitable, and safe manner
Ensure proper job controls, i.e. quantities, costs, revenue and schedule
Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base
Ensure accurate reports for the job allowing for continuous improvement in performance
Assist project in helping to meet or exceed expected margins
Understanding and documentation of pipeline sampling/testing results
Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications
Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Construction Management or related Engineering degree
Understanding of basic industrial construction projects.
Ability to travel to various job locations.
Strong computer skills required with a special emphasis on Excel skills.
Experience in construction industry preferred and experience working in a refinery environment a plus
Competent in all Microsoft products and scheduling experience
Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills
Willingness to work both in field and office settings and an ability to work in a high production, fast moving environment
A valid driver license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
