As a privately held company we reward our staff withopportunities towards ownership.As a Dam Project Engineer, you will need to be a driven, motivatedindividual who will assist with technical aspects of the project and clientmanagement within the Geotechnical Dams and Hydraulics Practice of GannettFleming, focusing on clients and projects in the western US. Duties willinclude management, analysis, design and construction observation of awide variety of dam and flood risk reduction projects.Responsibilities:Design and analyze reinforced concrete hydraulic structures, such asspillways, outlet works, stilling basins, etc. for complex sites and/orDesign and analyze various types of dam embankments and flood controlstructures with regard to seepage, slope stability and dam safety issues.Additionally, you will:Independently apply advanced theories, concepts and principals ofengineering to resolve critical issues and unique conditions.Participate in the development of project design concepts and criteria andresearch large or complex project elements.Have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, andcoordinating large or complex engineering assignments.Act as technical specialist in the development of proposals.Manage project team integrated with multiple disciplines of 10+ people.May act in the capacity of Project Manager, Client Manager or Proposal ManagerProvide QA/QC reviewsMay supervise a staff of engineers and other technical specialists.Responsible for working closely with clients for client satisfaction as wellas business development purposes.Prepare engineering memorandums, reports, design drawings, and specifications.Provide observation support during the construction phase of various projects.Prepare engineering design cost proposals and assist with marketing andbusiness development efforts as needed.Education | Experience:Minimum QualificationsRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) with ability to obtain licensure inmultiple jurisdictions.Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required; Master's Degree preferred.5 plus years of experience in water resources, mining, or dam projects.Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite is required.Field experience with construction observation activities such asexcavation, form work, reinforcement and concrete placement and finishingis preferred.Strong analytical and report/proposal writing skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to workindependently and within a team environment.Prior supervision of staff is preferred.Project Management experience (PMP) and/or advanced technicalcertification (BCEE), preferred.Company Overview:At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people weserve.
