Description:
This position is known as a Module Fabrication Operator. Working under the direction of the Plant Manager and the Fabrication Coordinator, the Module Fabrication Operator is responsible for operating the module fabrication processes and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce high quality modules while minimizing operating costs and ensuring compliance with various federal, state, and local regulations. Modules are filters that filter our chemicals. They distribute these modules to Food and Bev, Manufacturers, Auto Shops, and Refineries. Each module will focus on filtering out something different depending on the needs of their client.
Responsibilities:
1) To ensure a safe work environment, know and practice all plant policies and company safety standards, rules, and procedures. Correct all unsafe conditions in your work area as soon as possible. If you cannot correct an unsafe condition, notify the Fabrication Coordinator immediately.
2) Complete all module fabrication operations including bundle preparation, tubesheet formation, module assembly, patching, coating, drying, testing, and shipping as directed by fabrication Coordinator. Perform QC on raw materials using gel timer.
3) Interact with PLC’s to gather data and evaluate process operation. Be aware of acceptable operating ranges for all critical process variables and notify Fabrication Coordinator as soon as possible of any deviations from standard operating conditions.
4) Be aware of regulatory requirements for hazardous waste handling, air permits, and spill reporting. Notify fabrication Coordinator immediately of any deviations from permit conditions.
5) Be able to recognize when fabrication equipment requires repair or maintenance and communicate this information to Fabrication Coordinator for inclusion on the maintenance list.
6) Identify cost saving, quality, or safety improvements opportunities in the module fabrication area and communicate these opportunities to Plant Manager using a process improvement from.
7) Work with Fabrication Coordinator and plant support engineers to develop standard operating procedures and to revise existing procedures as required. Assist with training of new operators.
8) Communicate process information in logbooks for evaluation by other operators, Fabrication Coordinator, and plant support engineers. Participate in monthly communication meetings.
First 3 Weeks Schedule:
-6am - 2pm
-Monday-Friday with some overtime.
-Overtime will be given to full time employees. Some times overtime will be given to contract employees but if they do it will be offered before or at lunchtime to stay an additional hour or 2 that day.
Permanent Shift = Rotating Shift
-Week A: 6am-6pm
-Week B: 6pm-6am
-Rotating shift will take place in the Fiber Spinning department and is required to work the rotating shift. The rotating shift alternates each week between Week A and Week B listed above.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Forklift certification will be given by the client.
-High School Diploma minimum education.
