As a StaffÂAccountant,youâllbe responsibleforanalyzing and reporting the financial activities of your assigned communities. Working closely with building management and Board of Trustees to prepare andmonitorcommunity budgets and cash management.ÂÂ
Your Responsibilities:Â Â
Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned portfolio of propertiesÂReview/test accounts receivable activities (i.e.potential assessments)ÂReview accounts payable activities (i.e.review coding)ÂReview cash activities (i.e.review outstanding checks, reconciling items)ÂPrepare accrual entries andmaintainbackup schedules (i.e.accruedinterest, prepaid expenses, deferred assessments)ÂAnalyze and reconcile all balance sheet accountson a monthly basis.ÂAssistmanagement with annual budget.ÂAt year end, close out financial statements, code the new budget, enter budget spreads into the system and prepare monthly/quarterly reserve contribution payment requests for the accounts payable folderÂWork with independent CPAs on audit issuesÂÂProcess audits and tax returns prepared by independent CPAs for assigned portfolio (i.e.review draft audits, consider audit entries, distribute tax returns to managers to obtain signatures, mail tax returns by deadlines)ÂMonitorinvestments, cash balances and cash adequacyÂÂ
Skills & Qualifications:Â Â
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financefrom a four-year college or university.ÂCPA certification and/or related work experience preferred.ÂFive (5) + years of experience as Staff or Sr. Accountant in property management or realstatefields, residential management preferred.ÂÂStrong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices.Â
Ability to perform with minimum supervision and make decisions independently.ÂÂ
Strong communicationand analytic skills.ÂDetailed oriented with multiple tasks and information organization.ÂHighproficiencyin Microsoft Windows software, especially EXCEL.ÂÂ
