Summary: Provides engineering, technical assistance, and leadership to plant manufacturing and maintenance groups.
Duties & Responsibilities: Manages, plans, and implements all aspects of assigned capital projects including management of outside vendors and contractors. Provides troubleshooting of process conditions and plant equipment as required. Through a continual daily involvement with plant operations, recommends and implements changes to equipment and procedures that will provide ongoing improvement in reliability, performance, safety, and productivity. Assists in the electronic and physical file maintenance of equipment files, site drawings, P&ID's, PFDs, and other mechanical integrity files. Serves on various improvement and safety teams such as Process Hazard Analyses reviews, Z-Sigma teams, 5S improvements, IQ suggestion improvements, root cause analysis, and ISO quality audits. Coordinates maintenance functions with the plant production schedule and facilitates preventative maintenance activities with the Maintenance Department. Issues work orders for equipment problems, equipment or process improvements, safety issues, PSM issues, equipment emergencies, or general maintenance items. Understand the manufacturing processes, recommend, design and complete process improvement ideas. Trouble shoot and resolve plant process or equipment problems, develop engineering solutions, and oversee the implementation. Manage assigned capital projects utilizing sound engineering judgment, designs, and current technology. Work in concert with management and staff positions in support and/or development of the capital plan, annual budgets, environmental compliance, waste reduction, cost control, new product development, process and equipment improvements, implementation of new technology, control systems, personnel training, PSM and safety. Complete tasks and projects in a timely fashion meeting the plant's schedule requirements. Assist in the maintenance of operational and maintenance support programs (i.e., mechanical integrity, equipment operation, ISO, PSM, DCS, etc.). Administer a portion of the Reliance system procedures and work instructions in Process, Utilities, and Maintenance areas. Continually seek ways to improve the performance of our plant's operation and ensure that your customers' (both internal and external) needs are met. Adhere to the quality system. Adhere to Zeon's basic principles, core values, and quality system. Utilizes lean manufacturing principles, 6 sigma, or other statistical methods as well as the HVCC process in continual improvement. Performs other duties deemed necessary by supervisor and/or plant or corporate management.
Requirements and Qualifications[]{#Hlk142289191}[]{#Hlk142304825}: Bachelor's degree in engineering is required. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
