Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role as Product Owner, you will take ownership of Boehringer Ingelheim’s digital systems enabling in vitro and in vivo functions within Discovery Research. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the digital transformation in our in vitro labs including high-throughput screening, ADME and pharmacology as well as in vivo labs including PK and pharmacology profiling.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across Discovery Research to identify strategic priorities across the drug discovery value chain, including data infrastructure, assay planning, execution, and analytics.
By interacting closely with the user community, you will collect demands and prioritize implementation activities in alignment with the overall roadmap and strategic needs.
Furthermore, you will take responsibility for developing a long-term vision and a roadmap of enhancements for your in vitro biology and in vivo pharmacology products, working towards this aspiration with a dedicated digital product team and external software vendors.
Together with other internal Product Owners, you will be co-responsible for developing a vision of an integrated digital system landscape enabling drug discovery projects and supporting process development activities.
Moreover, you will work in an agile environment with multiple subject matter experts from e.g., the therapeutic areas, the research DMPK disciplines, biotherapeutics drug discovery, as well as system owners and key users within business and IT.
Requirements
PhD in biology, pharmacology, physics, biochemistry, or a related discipline with several years of experience in leading in vitro and/or in vivo activities. Experience in leading projects at the intersection of R&D and IT is beneficial
Profound understanding of and experience with in vitro and in vivo experiments in an industrial setting
Proven track-record in small molecule drug discovery and familiarity with DMPK and/or pharmacology concepts and familiarity with pharmaceutical R&D concepts
Personnel management skills in a matrix team environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication and mentoring skills paired with an agile and entrepreneurial mindset
Excellent communication and moderation skills in English, written and spoken
