Process Engineering Technical LeaderJob DescriptionThe Global Nonwovens (GNW) Engineering Technical Leader -Meltspinning/Elastics is a functional role providing technical leadership in developing, prioritizing, resourcing, and executing strategic improvement plans across GNW Manufacturing sites to drive improvement in SRYL, OEE, and overall Cost of Manufacture. This role will collaborate closely with GNW mill operations resources to apply and execute process solutions and activities that progress the overall strategic improvement plans.They will be accountable to Move Fast by providing subject matter expertise, problem solving and process solutions for issues within GNW manufacturing as they arise. They are also accountable for Growing Our People through the development, documentation, training, and implementation of Best Practices within Meltspinning and elastic processes and technologies including utilization of P2030 global practices.This individual will have overall ownership of Meltspinning and elastics processes utilized across GNW Manufacturing, including those utilized from external vendors. This role will also have a strong connection with RandE teams for innovation initiatives that are progressing through the IMF pipeline from testing through commercialization.This role is expected to provide project leadership, coordination, and direction for management of specific initiatives and activities in the 1-4 year business horizon to ensure delivery of safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations for the business. They will work with local site teams to ensure execution of projects with excellence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities in this role include providing subject matter expertise, strategic development, coordination, and execution of Meltspinning and elastics improvement plans that transform the operating performance of the GNW mills leading to breakthrough and sustained results in OEE, cost, IMM, quality, SRYL and overall value to the businesses we serve.Provide technical subject matter expertise within Meltspinning and elastic processes and technologies from extruder through the fiber draw unit, initiating problem solving and sustained improvement plans.Own development of clear strategic improvement plans through collaboration with mill operations, GNW supply chain, GSC, and RandE to drive optimal performance within sector.Develop robust business cases for potential capital investments in the 12 to 24 month horizon that align to the long-term manufacturing and footprint strategies as required.Lead, coordinate and execute multi-site improvement programs or projects with a financial scope of up to $30 million from conception to commercialization.Develop and maintain asset performance and/or project dashboards to seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve GNW shared objectives with an emphasis on reduction of SRYL and improved related uptime.Own timely stakeholder communication of problem solving, escalation, and project activities.Document, provide training, and make readily available known Best Practices and optimal operating principles across Meltspinning and Elastics technologies and processes within GNW manufacturing.Develop and maintain productive working relationships with mill teams, 3rd Party suppliers, consultants, and contractors. Ensure protection of GNW technologies, processes, and materials through any external work with NDAs and/or JDAs.Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple intersecting activities and value-added complexity while providing coordination across the supply chain by balancing the interdependencies between the groups, leveraging peer capability, and ensuring results are driven from the appropriate part of the organization.Demonstrate understanding and provide visibility of industry trends internally and externally and integrate into execution of business-specific strategies.
Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:B.S., M. ., or Ph.D. in related major scientific or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university including Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Material/Polymer Science. In depth experience in lieu of engineering degree may be considered.Generally, 7 years of experience in in a variety of technical and/or operational assignments with experience in meltblown material development and manufacturingConsistent track record of delivering results while creating/maintaining a constructive work environment through providing coaching and work direction to peers and technical resources at mill and staff sites.Must be able to provide overall ownership and leadership of meltspining strategy across the sectorAbility to transform proof of concept into scalable solutions.Ability to work with and manage third party vendor relationships.Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
