Develop and optimize processes to improve product quality and reliability. Improve process yield, reduce costs, improve productivity, and resolve manufacturing line problems. Identify, diagnose and resolve process-related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC methodology. Coordinate and carry out the process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at the process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications and managing, auditing, and liaising with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives. Establish and improve process conditions and technology. Upgrade process capability and reduce production cost. Set up process parameters for a variety of semiconductor equipment. Perform evaluation, promotion, and planning of new equipment/materials. Maximize yield by working on tools, the process, or wafer fabrication recipes. Troubleshoot wafer fabrication problems and perform root cause analysis. Work with other process areas to understand and control process deviations. Evaluate products to ensure they meet the required design and performance specifications. Conduct research to assess process adjustment requirements and recommend process improvements or equipment changes needed to efficiently manufacture new product or part types.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and one year of experience in the job offered or in a process engineering-related occupation.
