Job Overview
Sustains general pharmacy operations throughout the organization by ensuringsterile and non-sterile medication preparation and dispensing is in accordancewith the medication order and adherence to requirements established by CHCO,the state board of pharmacy, federal law and other regulatory agencies whereappropriate. Provides oversight to and supervises the work of pharmacytechnicians, interns and students as appropriate.

Department: Outpatient PharmacyHours per week: PRN (as needed)Shift: Varies (day/evening). Department hours of operation are between7:30am-8:30pm, this position does require weekend commitments.
Qualifications
Education: PharmD or RPhLicensure: Licensed pharmacist in the state of Colorado

These examples do not include all the functions which theemployee may be expected to perform.Reviews, verifies, and processes medication orders using the electronichealth record to ensure that the medication is appropriate in terms of dose,dosage form, route of administration, frequency, duration of therapy,and patient's disease state in a timely manner.Provides drug information services by responding to questions regardingmedication compatibilities, adverse drug events, regimens, dosing,interactions, storage and disposal, compounding, therapeutic uses ofmedications and pharmaceutical supplies in a timely manner.Actively participates in the development, maintenance, and implementationof hospital and department policy and procedures related to regulatoryrequirements for medication use, preparation, storage, restrictions,and administration.Sustains and implements quality and safety initiatives and practices in thedepartment and throug out the hospital. Reports adverse drug events andmedication variances using the hospital variance reporting program (QSRS).Documents pharmaceutical interventions according to departmental standards.Performs all recordkeeping functions required by the Colorado State Board ofPharmacy rules and regulations regarding order interpretation, medicationpreparation and dispensing.Oversees daily adherence to standard operational procedures and policies asrequired by CHCO, USP Chapters 797, 795 & 800 and Colorado State Boardof Pharmacy rules & regulations.Actively maintains competency, understanding and oversight of thefundamental practices and precautions for preparing and dispensing highquality hazardous drugs...
