Principal Risk Specialist, Technology

As a Principal Risk Specialist at Capital One you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Principal Risk Specialists at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable.

Principal Risk Specialists at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Responsibilities:

Risk Consulting to one or more Business Areas relative to their business lines and provide advice and guidance as required

Provides oversight and guidance on annual risk assessments (Risk and Control Self Assessments and Process Level Assessments) conducted by the 1st Line of defense risk office

Corrective action - Identify and track events and issues to mitigate risk to Capital One. Coordinate with applicable business areas to define/ implement remediation activities

Change Management

Effectively challenges our 1st line of defense business partners and collaborates effectively with 2nd line of defense (Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and Tech Risk Management)

Lead change control efforts at the process level to ensure impacts are appropriately assessed, documented and implemented

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 3 years of Risk Management Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk

4+ years of Risk Management Experience

PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)

Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
