Our Finance teams don’t just manage our books; they help drive the company forward by partnering closely with global cross-functional teams to support the growth of this rapidly expanding network; driving controllership, innovation, productivity, and cost-effective operations across the network in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a highly analytical and resourceful Principal Financial Manager to play a pivotal role in the development and controllership of a warehousing and distribution network across the US.

  In this role, you will drive seller experience by directly impacting the development, planning, execution and controllership of a warehousing and distribution network. The role will require quickly learning and fully grasping the business’s economics to understand the big picture, gaining proficiency in our data to capture the right details, and communicating clearly and succinctly to effectively partner with business leaders and influence decisions.

  This highly visible role requires a candidate with the proven leadership to influence senior stakeholders and steer business conversations to achieve great outcome for Amazon as well as its customers. They should demonstrate high standards and must exercise considerable judgement, drive strategy and tactical execution, and communicate (both written/verbal) at a senior executive level.

  Key job responsibilities

  Partnering with Senior Managers and Directors to drive strategic initiatives and long-term success for Amazon Warehousing Distribution (AWD).

  Creating, improving, and maintaining business/financial metrics, reports and reviews

  Communicating financial and business results including variance analyses to senior business leaders

  Creating, improving, and maintaining financial models

  Gathering analytical insights and developing financial frameworks that inform business improvement

  Help the company have clear visibility on the end to end financials of the Amazon Warehousing Distribution network.

  Drive performance by reinforcing and enhancing metrics through analytics and financial modelling

  Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership

  Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of options and alternatives

  Establish a positive team culture and develop top talent

  Hire, develop and mentor peers and team members, while promoting knowledge-sharing

  About the team

  This is the leader role for financial leadership of the US 3PL Finance network, supporting Amazon Warehousing Distribution (AWD). While initially an individual contributor role, it will require hiring and developing a team over time in line with the growth of the US AWD 3PL network.

  The role is part of a team that supports financial business partnering, planning and controllership for External Fulfillment in EU, with growing support of 3PLs in NA as well. In addition to External Fulfillment, the EU team supports EU Customer Fulfillment (CF) Sustainability, Shipping Supplies, Inventory Quality Control and Assurance (ICQA), Learning and Development (L&D), and Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA). The EU team is based in Luxembourg and London.

  Basic Qualifications

  10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience

  Knowledge of accounting for retail payments, e-commerce or financial services industry

  Preferred Qualifications

  MBA, or CFA

  Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes

  Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages

  Experience building and leading in a complex finance team through a mixed finance skill set (commercial finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, operations)

  Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

  6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
