JOB REQUIREMENTS: Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) are persons who havenot only lived the experience of mental illness but also have had formaltraining in the peer specialist model of mental health supports foradults. They use their unique set of recovery experiences in combinationwith solid skills training to support peers who have mental illness.Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to: Provide coverage atdrop-in centers based upon coverage needs Facilitate 1:1 meetings andSupport Group recovery efforts Maintain the utmost confidence concerningall verbal and written information Assist and support consumers in thedevelopment of Recovery and Independent Living Plans: offer IL Plandevelopment with all consumers\' indicating a potential goal; performintake and maintain case files with mandated and required forms anddocumentation; provide coordination, follow along and support forconsumers with open files Provide information regarding the purpose ofpeer support and recovery models Provide Core Services: Information andReferral, Advocacy, Peer Support, Transition and Independent LivingSkills Training Demonstrate IL Philosophy in daily work Accurately,respectfully and punctually complete all required documentation Attendmandatory monthly clinical supervision meetings ***** OTHEREXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must have lived experience with mentalhealth and/or substance use challenges and intentionally share personalrecovery story as appropriate to assist consumers, providing hope andhelp in changing patterns and behaviors. Ability to maintainconfidentiality of consumer information required. Knowledge ofdisability rights and commitment to Independent Living philosophyrequired. Working knowledge of community resources required. Experiencein the delivery of presentations and training to groups preferred.Knowledge of Assistive Technology and related resources preferred. Goodoral and written communication skills, and ability to problem-solverequired. Ability to work a flexible schedule as workload dictates. Avalid Wisconsin driver\'s license, proof of auto liability insurancemeeting agency minimum limits and ability to meet agency drivingstandards required.
