FTE: 0.001000 Shift: Shift 4 Job Summary: Under the direction andsupervision of a registered nurse, the OB Technician performs a varietyof routine duties within the obstetric department including organizationof environment, maintenance of equipment, assisting withoperative/delivery room procedures, basic tasks necessary to provide forcare, comfort and safety of patients, and clerical support. Responsibleto the Labor and Delivery Leadership, Charge Nurses and the RN\'s onduty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Previous experience as a Surgical Tech or OB Tech isstrongly preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma orequivalent and one of the following; a graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHESaccredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma, orCertificate), or a graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited SurgicalTechnologist Program (Associate, Diploma, or Certificate), or CNA or LPNis required. Incumbents in the position prior to October 1, 2016 maysubstitute this educational requirement with the following statement -minimum of 2 years work experience in an clinical setting is required.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology andmedical terminology is required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: One of thefollowing is required: State of Wisconsin licensure as a LicensedPractical Nurse, State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification; orcompletion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program, orcompletion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical TechnologistProgram.
