Nike India is hiring for a Director, Business Development, to be based in Nike’s Bangalore office. We are looking for a leader who brings experience in developing and implementing firm wide strategy, provided based on specialized knowledge and best practices. We are searching for someone who has a positive, ambitious approach to their work and who brings passion for sport, fashion and creating a future business model that is not only innovative but will lay the foundation for significant growth across the India marketplace. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
In this role, you will develop and translate business strategy into a clear business model for the India marketplace. You will set goals that can have far reaching impact on the evolution of the business and will lay the foundations for digital retail growth in India. In this role, problems are not clearly defined, and sufficient information may not always be readily available. Occasionally, issues are complex where fundamental principles do not clearly apply or where data appears to conflict. You will manage issues and resolve conflicts across cross functional teams, both internally and externally and maintain deliberate connections across functions and teams.
In parallel, you will also Provide planning, support, research and advice to senior management in areas of communications, corporate and government affairs and strategic planning. You will translate business strategy toward developing and implementing high-growth business model while driving analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of short- and long-term business strategies and market initiatives.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
In this role, you’ll report directly to the General Manager, India also based in Bangalore and will be part of the Nike India Leadership Team. You will indirectly manage a diverse India team tasked with laying the foundations for the next phase of growth for Nike India. You’ll work with stakeholders across India, the Southeast Asia & India (SEA&I) territory, as well as our Asia Pacific and Latin America (APLA) geography and Nike global organization.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Strategy or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of relevant strategy, business development or management consultancy experience, ideally managing rapid-growth, consumer-facing digital and/or retail businesses
Expertise and a strong vision on the future of retail experiences, with a focus on commerce and the interaction across physical and digital channels
Demonstrated people leadership capability in leading, coaching and developing a diverse team
Proven cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Understanding of the retail landscape in India a plus.
